Special Mention - NYC Medical Examiner's Office
Date: January 24, 2013

Misaskim would once again like to make special mention of the incredible sensitivity shown by the NYC Medical Examiner's office towards the Kishik family who suffered the tragic loss of their daughter, Sara A"H.

Sara A"H was nifter on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and the family opted to catch the 11:50 p.m. flight to Eretz Yisroel to bring her there to kvurah. However, most of the staff at the Medical Examiner's office had already left for the day and their services were needed in order to release the nifteres on time. Key personnel including the clerk and x-ray technician agreed to be brought back to the office after hours to take care of all legal matters and arrange for the nifteres to be released. Misaskim commends the Medical Examiner's Office for its assistance in enabling the family to provide a lasting comfort to the nifteres under these tragic circumstances.

Misaskim representatives have expended a great deal of effort over the years to ensure that these arrangements with the Medical Examiner's Office are operative. With siyata dishmaya, the system functioned well on Tuesday night and the nifteres along with family members were able to make the flight to Eretz Yisroel.

We are humbled by, and grateful for, the kindness and respect for our traditions that is continuously demonstrated by the NYC Medical Examiner's Office.
